New Group Capabilities Ideal For Course Providers
SEATTLE, WA April 18, 2005 e-Learning Consulting announced the immediate availability of Learning Management System (LMS) 1.5, a system to manage the delivery of self-paced, e-learning courses. Training administrators use the LMS to publish courses. Learners log into the LMS using a browser, select courses from the catalog and launch them. The LMS tracks the learners’ activities with the courses providing online reports.
Version 1.5 of the LMS adds support for groups. Learners can be organized into groups. Each group can have one or more administrators who can manage the learners and view reports for the group.
"Course providers will like the new groups functionality," said Leo Lucas, President of e-Learning Consulting. "They can now use a single installation of the LMS to deliver courses to multiple organizations."
The LMS supports SCORM 1.2, the most popular e-Learning standard. Any authoring tool that supports SCORM 1.2 can create courses for use with the LMS. The LMS price is based on the number of users. The entry price is 1,000 US Dollars. The price for an unlimited number of users is 5,000 US Dollars.
